Aclima is a specialized Norwegian textile brand founded in 1939, focusing on high-quality wool apparel for outdoor, sports, and professional use. The brand is renowned for its use of Merino wool and its technical innovations in thermal regulation, such as the WoolNet and Lars Monsen series.
Historically, the company began as a workshop in Krøderen, Norway, manufacturing wool soles and sweaters. Today, while the design and administration remain rooted in Norway, the majority of manufacturing takes place in Aclima's own factory in Valga, Estonia, ensuring strict control over quality and environmental standards. The company maintains a strong commitment to sustainable practices, including Oeko-Tex and ZQ certification for their wool sources.
Aclima remains a family-owned enterprise, currently managed by the Johansen family. This independent ownership allows the brand to maintain its core values of durability and high-performance functionality without the pressures of large corporate conglomerates.
