Coffee B (CoffeeB) coffee balls

CoffeeB is a revolutionary single-serve coffee system developed by Migros. Unlike traditional capsule systems that use aluminum or plastic, CoffeeB uses a compressed coffee ball coated with a thin, seaweed-derived protective layer. This makes the system entirely compostable and more environmentally friendly.

The brand was launched in 2022 to address the waste associated with individual coffee servings. While the coffee is sourced globally from regions like Brazil, Colombia, and Ethiopia, the processing, compression technology, and manufacturing of the coffee balls take place in Switzerland to ensure high quality and precision in the patented design.

CoffeeB is owned by the Swiss retail giant Migros. Migros is Switzerland's largest retail company and one of the largest employers in the country, operating as a federation of cooperatives with a strong focus on sustainability and vertical integration through its own production facilities.
