Circle K convenience brand

Circle K is a globally recognized chain of convenience stores and gas stations. The brand originated in El Paso, Texas, in 1951 when Fred Hervey purchased three Kay's Food Stores. Over decades, it expanded across the United States and internationally through various acquisitions and franchising agreements.

Today, Circle K is the flagship brand of the Canadian multinational Alimentation Couche-Tard. While the brand has American roots, its ultimate ownership and strategic direction are based in Canada. Product manufacturing for Circle K's private label items is decentralized, typically sourced from various regional suppliers in the countries where the stores operate to ensure efficiency and product freshness.

The brand has undergone significant consolidation, particularly after Couche-Tard acquired it in 2003 and later rebranded most of its other retail identities, such as Statoil and Mac's, under the Circle K umbrella to create a unified global presence.
