Ideal Margarine

Ideal is a historic brand of margarine and vegetable spreads that has its roots in Mexico, where it became a household staple for cooking and baking. The brand was originally developed to provide an affordable and shelf-stable alternative to butter for Mexican consumers.

Today, Ideal is part of the Upfield portfolio. Upfield was established in 2018 following the divestment of Unilever's spreads division to KKR, a global investment firm. The product is primarily manufactured in Mexico to supply the local and regional Latin American markets, maintaining its traditional recipe while benefiting from the global supply chain and sustainability practices of its parent company.
