Watties Frozen Vegetables

Wattie's is one of New Zealand's most iconic food brands, founded by James Wattie in 1934 in Hastings, Hawke's Bay. Initially established to process fruit and meat for the local and international markets, it became a household name synonymous with canned and frozen goods in the region.

Today, the brand is owned by the American multinational Kraft Heinz, which acquired the brand through the merger of Kraft and H.J. Heinz (Heinz had previously bought Wattie's in 1992). Despite its global ownership, Wattie's maintains a strong local presence, with many of its frozen vegetable products sourced and processed within New Zealand, particularly at their facilities in Hastings and Canterbury.

The global headquarters for the ultimate owner, Kraft Heinz, is located in the United States and the United Kingdom, while the brand continues to operate as a local subsidiary serving the New Zealand and Australian markets.
