Kenco is a well-established coffee brand with a long heritage rooted in the United Kingdom. Originally founded as the Kenya Coffee Company in 1923, the brand began by importing coffee from Kenya to a shop in London. Over the decades, it evolved into a household name, synonymous with instant and roast-and-ground coffee across the British and Irish markets.

Today, Kenco is part of the global coffee giant JDE Peet's. The manufacturing process primarily takes place in the United Kingdom, notably at their Banbury facility, which has been a hub for the brand's production for many years. The decaffeination process utilizes modern techniques to ensure the signature Kenco flavor remains intact while removing the caffeine content.

Ownership of the brand has transitioned through several major corporations, including Kraft Foods and Mondelez International, before becoming a centerpiece of the Jacobs Douwe Egberts (JDE) joint venture. JDE later merged with Peet's Coffee to form JDE Peet's, which is headquartered in the Netherlands and managed by JAB Holding Company. The brand continues to focus on sustainability through initiatives like 'Coffee Made Happy'.
