Founded in 2005, the brand was originally established by Fitmart GmbH & Co. KG. ESN is well-known for producing its products in-house at its own manufacturing facilities in Germany to ensure high quality and control over the formulation processes.

Today, ESN is the flagship brand of The Quality Group GmbH, a major player in the European health and fitness market. The company is headquartered in Elmshorn, Germany. Following a significant minority investment in 2022, CVC Capital Partners, a global private equity firm headquartered in Luxembourg, became the ultimate owner and strategic partner to drive the brand's international expansion.
