Sætre Gjende is one of Norway's most iconic biscuit brands, specifically known for the 'Turkjeks' (hiking biscuit) which features a distinct reindeer motif. The brand Sætre was founded in 1883 by Hans Otto Sætre and his wife in Vålerenga, Oslo, making it Norway's oldest biscuit manufacturer.

Historically, the manufacturing took place at their factory in Kolbotn; however, following industrial shifts, much of the production remains centered in Scandinavia. Today, the brand is a centerpiece of the Norwegian grocery market and is owned by the Orkla Group. Sætre merged with Göteborgs Kex and is now part of the Orkla Confectionery & Snacks division, ensuring the brand maintains its Nordic heritage and high market share in the Norwegian biscuit segment.
