Mou Potato Leek Soup

Mou is a highly recognized Danish brand, iconic for its frozen soups and soup ingredients. The brand's history dates back to 1960 in Esbjerg, where Sigurd and Vera Mou founded a butcher shop that eventually specialized in clear soups and dumplings.

Today, Mou products are primarily manufactured in Denmark, specifically at their large-scale production facility in Esbjerg. The brand has evolved from a local butcher's specialty into a national staple found in almost every Danish supermarket.

While Mou was a family-owned business for decades, it was later acquired by the Danish food giant Danish Crown. In 2024, it was announced that Danish Crown had reached an agreement to sell its soup division, including the Mou brand, to the French food group Continental Foods (part of the GB Foods group), though it remains deeply rooted in Danish food culture and production.
