Oral-B is a globally recognized brand in oral hygiene, originally founded in the United States in 1950 by periodontist Robert W. Hutson. The brand became famous for its innovative toothbrush designs and was later acquired by the Gillette Company in 1984.
Following the acquisition of Gillette by Procter & Gamble (P&G) in 2005, Oral-B became a cornerstone of P&G's global healthcare portfolio. While the brand has American roots, a significant portion of its manufacturing for the European market occurs in Germany, particularly at sites in Marktheidenfeld and Kronberg. Today, Oral-B remains under the ultimate ownership of Procter & Gamble, continuing to lead in the development of both manual and electric toothbrushes, as well as specialized toothpastes.
