Speick Original Soap

Speick is a traditional German personal care brand founded in 1928 by Walter Rau. The brand is famous for using the extract of the high alpine Speick plant (Valeriana celtica), which is gathered by hand in the Austrian Alps. This medicinal plant has been protected since 1936, but the company holds a special harvesting license due to its role in the region's cultural and ecological heritage.

The product is manufactured in Germany, specifically near Stuttgart, where the company maintains its long-standing family-run operations. Speick remains one of the few independent, family-owned cosmetic companies in Germany, now in its third and fourth generation of leadership.

Ownership has stayed within the founding Rau family under the corporate name Speick Naturkosmetik (Walter Rau GmbH & Co. KG Speickwerk). The brand is highly regarded for its commitment to sustainability, natural ingredients, and the preservation of alpine biodiversity.
