Itambé is an iconic Brazilian dairy brand with a history dating back to 1948 in Minas Gerais. Originally founded as a cooperative (CCPR), it grew to become one of the largest dairy producers in Brazil, known for its extensive range of milk, yogurts, and condensed milk products.
Today, Itambé Alimentos is part of a complex ownership structure following significant industry acquisitions. In 2017/2018, it was acquired by the French dairy giant Lactalis, which is a family-owned multinational and the largest dairy products group in the world. The manufacturing of this specific yogurt takes place in Brazil, specifically at the Pará de Minas facility as indicated on the packaging, serving the domestic South American market with locally sourced dairy.
