Sensodyne is a world-renowned oral health brand specifically designed for people with tooth sensitivity. Originally launched in 1961 by the American company Block Drug, it was developed as a specialized toothpaste containing strontium chloride. The brand underwent significant corporate changes when Block Drug was acquired by GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) in 2001.
In July 2022, GSK completed a historic demerger of its consumer healthcare business, forming a new independent company called Haleon. Today, Sensodyne is a flagship brand under Haleon, which is headquartered in the United Kingdom. While the brand has global roots, the manufacturing process is distributed across several high-standard facilities worldwide, with a significant production hub located in Maidenhead, UK. The product seen in the image, labeled in Portuguese, is commonly distributed across the European market via local Haleon subsidiaries.
