Pedras Salgadas Sparkling Mineral Water

Pedras Salgadas is a prestigious brand of naturally carbonated mineral water sourced from the Pedras Salgadas springs in the Trás-os-Montes region of northern Portugal. The water's unique journey begins as rainfall that filters through deep granite layers for approximately ten years, naturally acquiring its distinctive mineral profile and 100% natural effervescence before emerging at the source.

While the springs have been known since Roman times for their therapeutic properties, the brand was officially established for commercial exploitation in 1871. Throughout the 20th century, it became a staple in Portugal, often referred to as "Água das Pedras" (Water from the Stones).

Today, the brand is owned by the Super Bock Group (formerly known as Unicer), which is the largest beverage company in Portugal. The group's ownership is a joint venture between the Portuguese Viacer Group, which holds a 56% majority stake, and the international Carlsberg Group, which holds the remaining 44%. The water continues to be bottled at its historical source in the municipality of Vila Pouca de Aguiar.
