Elgin is a well-established brand with a deep history in Brazil, originally founded in 1952. While it began with sewing machines, it has evolved into a massive conglomerate covering everything from air conditioning and solar energy to printers and smart home technology.

Today, the brand operates as a major Brazilian player with a global manufacturing strategy. While many of its high-tech components are sourced and manufactured in China, the company maintains significant industrial plants in Brazil, particularly in Manaus and Mogi das Cruzes, to serve the Latin American market efficiently. Elgin remains a privately-held Brazilian entity owned by the Moreira family.
