Sundown is one of the most recognized sunscreen brands in the world, particularly within the Brazilian market where it holds a significant market share. Originally developed by Johnson & Johnson, the brand was created to provide effective skin protection against UV radiation, especially for outdoor activities like swimming and beach visits. The product shown, 'Praia e Piscina' (Beach and Pool), is formulated to be highly resistant to water and sweat while offering broad-spectrum protection.
Historically, Sundown was a cornerstone of the Johnson & Johnson consumer health portfolio. However, in 2023, Johnson & Johnson completed the separation of its consumer health division into a new, independent corporate entity named Kenvue. This transition shifted the ownership of iconic global brands, including Sundown, Neutrogena, and Listerine, to Kenvue. In Brazil, these products continue to be manufactured locally in large-scale facilities, such as the major industrial complex in São José dos Campos, which serves as a production hub for the Latin American region.
