Café Santa Clara is one of Brazil’s most iconic and beloved coffee brands, with roots dating back to 1959. Founded by João Alves de Lima in São Miguel, in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, it began as a small family operation and grew to become a market leader, particularly in the North and Northeast regions of Brazil. The brand has built a legacy on providing high-quality coffee that honors the traditional Brazilian coffee culture.
In the early 2000s, the brand's parent company, Grupo Lima, entered into a joint venture with the Israeli food group Strauss, forming what is now known as 3corações (Tres Corações). Today, Café Santa Clara is the flagship brand of the 3corações Group, which is the largest coffee company in Brazil. The manufacturing remains centralized in Brazil across multiple strategic production facilities, ensuring the freshness and regional flavor profiles that the brand is known for.
As of the mid-2020s, the brand is owned by the 3corações Joint Venture, which is equal parts owned by the Brazilian São Miguel Holding and the Israeli Strauss Group. This partnership has allowed the brand to expand its portfolio from traditional ground coffee to include espresso capsules and premium specialty blends, maintaining its dominance in the South American beverage market.
