JBL is a legendary American brand in the audio industry, originally founded by James Bullough Lansing in 1946. Lansing was a pioneering audio engineer who also played a significant role in the development of cinema sound. Over the decades, JBL became a staple in both professional music studios and consumer households worldwide.
Today, JBL is part of Harman International Industries, which includes other prestigious audio brands. Since 2017, Harman has been a wholly-owned subsidiary of Samsung Electronics, a South Korean multinational conglomerate. While the brand carries an American heritage with engineering and design roots in the United States, the manufacturing of consumer products like the JBL GO series is primarily carried out in China to leverage global supply chain efficiencies.
