Buondì is a classic Italian breakfast snack known for its iconic dome shape, sourdough base, and granulated sugar topping. It was originally created by Angelo Motta, a pioneer in the Italian confectionery industry who transformed traditional artisan baking into a modern industrial scale. Historically, it is considered one of the first mass-produced breakfast snacks in Italy.
Over the years, the brand has transitioned through several owners. While it began under the Motta brand in Milan, it is currently part of the Bauli Group's extensive portfolio. Bauli, another historic Italian family-run company, acquired the brand to consolidate its leadership in the baked goods and holiday cake market. Today, Buondì continues to be manufactured in Italy, primarily at the production facilities in Castel d'Azzano, maintaining its heritage as a staple of Italian breakfast culture.
