Tuffi Schmand

Tuffi is a long-standing dairy brand deeply rooted in the North Rhine-Westphalia region of Germany. Originally established by the Milchwerke Köln-Wuppertal, the brand was named after a famous elephant that fell from a suspension railway in Wuppertal in 1950.

For many years, the brand was part of the FrieslandCampina portfolio. However, following a strategic acquisition in 2022, the brand was taken over by Hochwald Foods. Today, Tuffi products are primarily manufactured in Germany, maintaining their regional identity while being part of one of Germany's largest dairy cooperatives. The brand remains a staple in German supermarkets, particularly known for its milk, yogurt, and sour cream products like Schmand.
