Ovomaltine, known as Ovaltine in many markets, is a world-renowned brand of milk flavoring supplement made with malt extract, sugar, and whey. It was developed in 1904 by Albert Wander in Bern, Switzerland. The brand has a rich history centered around providing nutritional value and energy through its unique malt-based formula.
Today, the manufacturing and distribution of Ovaltine are divided geographically. While the Swiss company Wander AG (a subsidiary of Associated British Foods) manufactures the product for several European markets, Kingland-based Associated British Foods (ABF) manages the brand globally. In North America, the trademark is licensed to Nestlé, while in certain Southeast Asian countries, it is managed by other entities. This global presence ensures that the product is manufactured in multiple locations to serve local consumer bases effectively.
