Herschel Supply Co. Backpacks and Accessories

Herschel Supply Co. is a Canadian manufacturer of hipster retro backpacks and accessories. The brand was founded in 2009 by brothers Lyndon and Jamie Cormack, who named the company after the town of Herschel, Saskatchewan, where three generations of their family grew up. The brand gained massive popularity by blending vintage aesthetics with modern functionality, becoming a staple in urban fashion worldwide. Although headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, the vast majority of Herschel's manufacturing takes place in China and Vietnam to support global distribution and demand.

In late 2019, the brand transitioned from being an independent private company to part of a consortium. It was acquired by a group consisting of the private equity firm Eurazeo, along with investments from Alliance Consumer Growth and HOOPP. This strategic move was intended to fuel the brand's expansion into new product categories and international markets. Despite the change in majority ownership, the founders remain involved in the creative direction of the brand, which continues to operate as a distinctly Canadian-rooted international lifestyle name.
