Harrys is an iconic bakery brand originally founded in France in 1970. It revolutionized the French bread market by introducing pre-sliced American-style sandwich bread, known as 'pain de mie'. Over the decades, it has become a household name in Europe, particularly in France and Italy, recognized for its soft texture and long shelf life.
While its roots are French, the brand is currently owned by the Italian food giant Barilla Group. Barilla acquired Harrys in 2002 to expand its presence in the bakery sector beyond pasta. Today, the products are manufactured in several high-tech bakeries across France and exported to various European markets, maintaining its position as a market leader in the pre-packaged bread category.
