Rio Mare is Italy's most recognized brand of canned tuna, celebrated for its 'yellowfin' quality and distinctive pink packaging. Originally launched in 1965 by Trinity Alimentari, the brand revolutionized the Italian market with its easy-to-open cans and high-quality olive oil. Today, while it has a global supply chain for sustainable fishing, its primary manufacturing plant remains in Cermenate, Italy, which is the largest and most advanced tuna production facility in Europe.

Ownership transitioned from the original founders as the brand became a centerpiece of Bolton Group. Bolton Group is a privately owned Italian multinational that has expanded the brand's reach across dozens of countries, maintaining a strong focus on sustainability through initiatives like 'Pole & Line' fishing and partnerships with the WWF.
