GUM Ortho Wachs

GUM Ortho Wachs is a specialized dental care product designed to protect the mouth from irritation caused by orthodontic devices like braces. The GUM brand has a long tradition and originally hails from the USA, where it was founded in the 1920s by Dr. John O. Butler in Chicago.

In 1988, the American company was acquired by the Sunstar Group, a significant Japanese multinational specializing in oral care, health, and beauty products. Today, GUM is the global flagship brand of Sunstar. While the brand is under Japanese ownership and administers its international operations from Switzerland, a large portion of the wax production continues to take place in the USA. Distribution in Germany is handled by Sunstar Deutschland GmbH.
