Chá Leão is one of Brazil's most iconic and traditional tea brands, synonymous with the tea category in the country. Founded in 1901 by Agostinho Ermelino de Leão Jr. in Curitiba, Paraná, the company revolutionized the market with its matte tea products.

In 2007, the brand was acquired by The Coca-Cola Company, which integrated it into its global portfolio while maintaining local production and heritage. Today, the products are manufactured in Brazil, primarily through Leão Alimentos e Bebidas, a joint venture between Coca-Cola and its local bottlers. The brand continues to dominate the Brazilian market with a wide range of herbal, fruit, and specialty teas.
