La Trappe Blond is a world-renowned authentic Trappist beer brewed at the Brouwerij de Koningshoeven in the Netherlands. Its origins date back to 1884 when the Abbey of Onze Lieve Vrouw van Koningshoeven was established. As one of the few breweries in the world permitted to use the 'Authentic Trappist Product' logo, it adheres to strict monastic brewing traditions.
While the brewery is owned by the Abbey (De Koningshoeven), it entered into a commercial partnership with the Swinkels Family Brewers (formerly Bavaria Brewery) in the late 1990s to handle distribution and management. After an initial dispute regarding its Trappist status due to this commercial partnership, the brewery regained the full ATP logo right in 2005. Today, the brand remains a cornerstone of Dutch brewing heritage, combining monastic oversight with global distribution expertise.
