Lalique is a prestigious French glassmaker founded by René Lalique in 1888. The brand is globally renowned for its high-quality crystal art, including perfume bottles, jewelry, and decorative figurines like the frosted crystal rooster shown. This particular piece, often referred to as the 'Coq Nain' or dwarf rooster, is a classic example of Lalique's signature use of contrasting clear and satin-finished (frosted) crystal.
Historically, the brand remained within the Lalique family until it was acquired in 2008 by Art & Fragrance (now known as Lalique Group SA), a Swiss company led by Silvio Denz. While the brand is now under Swiss corporate ownership, its production remains deeply rooted in French heritage. Every crystal piece continues to be handcrafted at the company's sole factory in Wingen-sur-Moder, Alsace, France, using traditional artisanal techniques passed down through generations.
