Góralki is a popular brand of filled wafers known for their distinctive perimeter-dipped chocolate glaze. The brand's identity is rooted in the highland culture of Central Europe, specifically the Tatra Mountains region, which is reflected in its name ('Górale' refers to highlanders). Originally produced in Slovakia, the wafers have become a staple snack across Poland, the Czech Republic, and Hungary.
The product is manufactured by I.D.C. Holding, a.s., which is the largest Slovak producer of confectionery and biscuits. The brand stands as a key competitor in the Central European wafer market, maintaining a strong presence through consistent production in its Sereď-based facilities.
Ownership of the brand transitioned significantly in late 2024 when the Irish-based multinational Valeo Foods Group reached an agreement to acquire I.D.C. Holding. This acquisition integrates Góralki into a massive international portfolio of snack brands, shifting the ultimate ownership to Ireland while maintaining the local Slovak manufacturing heritage.
