Homey is a leading smart home brand known for its versatile hub that connects a wide range of smart devices using various technologies like Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, and Infrared. The brand focuses on creating a unified ecosystem that allows users to control their entire home through a single, intuitive interface. While the research and development take place in the Netherlands, the hardware manufacturing is primarily conducted in China to leverage global supply chain efficiencies.

The brand was founded in the Netherlands by two students via a successful Kickstarter campaign. Since its inception, Homey (under the company Athom B.V.) became a prominent player in the European smart home market. In 2023, it was announced that LG Electronics would acquire a significant stake and ultimately full ownership of the brand to integrate Homey's open ecosystem into LG's ThinQ platform, expanding its global reach and technological capabilities.
