Original Wagner is one of Germany's most prominent frozen pizza brands, originating from a family bakery founded by Ernst Wagner in 1968 in Nonnweiler, Saarland. The brand became a pioneer in the frozen pizza market in Germany, eventually becoming a household name known for its thin-crust and diverse city-themed product lines like 'Big City Pizza'.

In 2005, Nestlé acquired a majority stake in the company, taking full ownership in 2013. However, move into 2023 and beyond, the brand is part of a strategic joint venture between Nestlé and the private equity firm PAI Partners. This venture, known as Froneri (specifically the European frozen pizza business arm), manages the brand's manufacturing and distribution. Despite the international ownership, the primary production facility remains in Nonnweiler, Germany, maintaining the brand's regional roots and high manufacturing standards.
