Sanpellegrino Limonata is an iconic Italian sparkling fruit beverage known for its high-quality ingredients and authentic Mediterranean flavor profile. The brand traces its heritage back to 1395 when the mineral water from the San Pellegrino Terme in Bergamo, Italy, was already famous for its purity. The commercial production of the mineral water began in 1899, and the Limonata flavor was officially introduced in 1932, marking a major expansion for the company into carbonated fruit drinks.
While the brand maintains its strong Italian identity and continues to manufacture its products in Italy to ensure authenticity, its ownership has transitioned over the decades to global conglomerates. In 1997, Sanpellegrino S.p.A. was acquired by Nestlé, the Swiss multinational food and drink company. Today, it operates as a key part of Nestlé's premium water and beverage portfolio, distributed globally under the Nestlé Waters division. Despite this Swiss ownership, the production remains deeply rooted in Italian soil, utilizing Italian lemon juice as a core component of its traditional recipe.
