Balter Brewing XPA

Balter Brewing Company is a prominent Australian craft brewery founded in 2016 by a group of friends, including professional surfers Mick Fanning, Joel Parkinson, Bede Durbidge, and Josh Kerr. The brand quickly rose to prominence within the Australian beverage market, particularly known for its award-winning 'Extra Pale Ale' (XPA). While it began as a homegrown independent venture based in Currumbin, Queensland, its rapid success led to a major acquisition.

In 2019, Balter was acquired by Carlton & United Breweries (CUB), which at the time was part of Anheuser-Busch InBev. However, through a subsequent corporate transaction that finalized in 2020, CUB and its stable of brands, including Balter, were acquired by the Japanese beverage giant Asahi Group Holdings. Today, while Balter maintains its distinct branding and continues to produce its beverages in Australia, it is ultimately owned and managed under the Asahi Beverages umbrella.
