Leão is a historic Brazilian brand, originally founded in 1901 by Agostinho Ermelino de Leão Junior in Curitiba as 'Leão Junior S.A.' It became a national icon for tea and mate infusion products. In 2007, the brand was acquired by The Coca-Cola Company, which significantly expanded its ready-to-drink portfolio under the name Matte Leão and Ice Tea Leão.
