The Instant Pot brand was originally founded in Ottawa, Canada, in 2009 by Robert Wang and his partners under the company name Double Insight Inc. Designed to simplify the cooking process for busy families, it quickly became a cult sensation in North America through successful digital marketing and word-of-mouth.
In 2019, the brand was acquired by Corelle Brands, which subsequently merged with Instant Brands. Currently, the brand is owned by Instant Brands, which underwent a restructuring process and is now operating under the ownership of Centre Lane Partners, a private equity firm based in the United States.
While the technology and design of the Instant Pot were pioneered in Canada, the manufacturing of the physical units is primarily conducted in China. These facilities handle the large-scale production of the stainless steel housings, electronic pressure regulation components, and heating elements found in models like the Duo Nova shown here.
