Prince is a classic brand of cigarettes originally introduced in Denmark in 1957. It was created by the company Chr. Augustine's Fabrikker, which later became part of Skandinavisk Tobakskompagni (Scandinavian Tobacco Group). The brand became highly iconic in Scandinavia, particularly in Denmark, where it held a dominant market share for decades.
In 2008, the cigarette operations of House of Prince were acquired by British American Tobacco (BAT). While the brand has deep Danish roots, manufacturing has largely shifted to BAT's specialized production facilities in Europe, notably Poland, to serve the Nordic market. Today, Prince remains a leading tobacco brand in North Europe, managed by one of the world's largest tobacco companies.
