As a generic agricultural product, hazelnuts are typically packaged and distributed by various retail brands such as Seeberger, Alnatura, or private labels. Ownership and brand origin depend entirely on the specific distributor found in the retail market. While the nuts are grown in Mediterranean or temperate climates, the final packaging and quality control frequently take place in the country where they are sold.
