Historically, the brand utilized an aggressive marketing campaign involving the famous 'Song of the ColaCao,' which cemented its status in Spanish pop culture.

Originally launched by Nutrexpa in Barcelona, the brand underwent a significant corporate restructuring in 2015. Nutrexpa split its assets into two separate entities: Adam Foods and Idilia Foods. All cocoa-related products, including the flagship ColaCao and Paladin brands, were moved under the ownership of Idilia Foods. Today, it remains one of the most recognized Spanish food brands globally, with local production facilities in several countries to serve international markets.
