Tamsulosin Zentiva is a pharmaceutical product primarily used for the treatment of symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). The Zentiva brand has deep historical roots in Europe, originating from the Czech pharmaceutical company Léčiva, which later merged with the Slovak firm Slovakofarma to form Zentiva.
After being acquired by Sanofi in 2008, it became Sanofi’s European generics platform. In 2018, Zentiva was acquired from Sanofi by Advent International, an American private equity firm, making it an independent company once again. While the brand originated in the Czech Republic and its German subsidiary is based in Frankfurt am Main, manufacturing for generic drugs like Tamsulosin often occurs across various European and global manufacturing hubs to ensure supply consistency.
