Pop Secret is one of the most recognizable popcorn brands in the world. It was originally introduced by General Mills in 1985, capitalizing on the growing popularity of microwave snacks in the United States and abroad. Over the decades, the brand has become synonymous with movie nights and quick, flavorful snacking options.
After being a staple of the General Mills portfolio for many years, the brand was sold to Diamond Foods in 2008. The ownership changed again in 2016 when Snyder's-Lance acquired Diamond Foods. In a major industry consolidation in 2018, Campbell Soup Company acquired Snyder's-Lance, bringing Pop Secret under its umbrella of snack brands. However, as of late 2024, Campbell's entered an agreement to sell the Pop Secret brand to Our Home, a leading independent better-for-you snacking platform. This move marks a new chapter for the brand under a specialized snack-focused parent company.
The primary manufacturing facilities for Pop Secret are located within the United States, leveraging domestic corn production to ensure freshness. The brand serves a global market, with wide distribution across North America, Europe, and Asia through various retail partnerships and local distributors.
