Desperados is a globally recognized beer flavored with tequila, first created in Strasbourg, France, by the Fischer Brewery in 1995. It pioneered the 'spirit beer' category, blending the refreshment of lager with the kick of tequila aromatics. Although it originated in France, the Desperados brand was acquired by the Dutch brewing giant Heineken N.V. when they purchased the Fischer Brewery group in 1996.
