Pantene Pro-V Hair Care

Pantene Pro-V is one of the world's most recognizable hair care brands, originally founded in Switzerland in 1945 by the pharmaceutical company Hoffmann-La Roche. The brand's name is derived from panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5), which was discovered to have significant hair-strengthening and repairing properties.

In 1985, the brand was acquired by Richardson-Vicks, which was subsequently purchased by Procter & Gamble (P&G) later that same year. Under P&G's stewardship, Pantene transitioned from a boutique European pharmacy brand into a global mass-market powerhouse. The iconic 'Pro-V' formula, combining the original Swiss panthenol with advanced conditioning technology, was launched globally in the early 1990s.
