Scan is one of Sweden's most iconic and historic food brands, primarily known for its Swedish meatballs and high-quality meat products. The brand has deep roots in Swedish agriculture and the cooperative movement, originally serving as the brand for the Swedish Farmers' Meat Association.

Today, Scan operates as a premium brand focused on Swedish-sourced meat. Throughout its history, it was a part of Swedish Meats before being acquired by the Finnish food company HKScan. In early 2024, the ownership landscape changed significantly when the Swedish agricultural cooperative Lantmännen entered into an agreement to acquire HKScan's Swedish operations, returning Scan to majority Swedish farmer ownership. This move ensures that the brand remains tightly integrated with Swedish livestock production and local food security.
