Pripps is one of Sweden's most iconic beverage brands, with roots dating back to 1828 when Johan Albrecht Pripp founded the brewery in Gothenburg. Over the decades, it became synonymous with Swedish beer culture, specifically known for its Pripps Blå line which was launched in 1975 and became the country's best-selling beer.

Today, the brand is no longer an independent Swedish company. Following a series of mergers, including a notable union with the Norwegian company Ringnes and later integration into the Baltic Beverages Holding, the brand was eventually acquired by the Danish multinational Carlsberg Group. While the brand is deeply rooted in Swedish social history, its ultimate ownership resides in Denmark. Most production for the Swedish market continues to take place at the Carlsberg brewery in Falkenberg, Sweden.
