AVM FRITZ!Box Cable router

The FRITZ!Box is a series of residential gateway devices (routers) produced by the German company AVM GmbH. Founded in 1986 in Berlin, AVM has become a market leader in broadband terminal equipment in Germany and several other European countries. Use of the brand name FRITZ! was a conscious choice by the founders to give the high-tech product a friendly, personal touch.

While many networking hardware companies outsource all manufacturing to Asia, AVM is notable for keeping a significant portion of its production within Europe, specifically in Germany. In 2024, it was announced that Rivean Capital would acquire a majority stake in AVM, though the founders remain involved. This strategic transition ensures the continued growth of one of Europe's most successful tech brands while maintaining its headquarters in Berlin.
