Iglo is a household name in Europe, particularly known for its frozen food products like fish sticks and frozen vegetables. The brand's history is deeply intertwined with the development of the frozen food industry in the mid-20th century. Originally, the brand was established as part of the Unilever portfolio. The majority of Iglo's production for the German market occurs in their facility in Bremerhaven, Germany, which is one of the world's most modern frozen food production sites.
In 2015, the Iglo Group (which included the Birds Eye brand in the UK) was acquired by Nomad Foods, a British-headquartered company. Nomad Foods has since grown to become the largest frozen food company in Europe, acquiring other historical brands like Findus and Ledo. Today, while the brand maintains its local heritage and specific regional manufacturing, it is managed as part of a pan-European conglomerate based in the United Kingdom.
