Norwex is a multinational brand specializing in chemical-free cleaning solutions and personal care products. Founded in Norway in 1994, the company gained international recognition for its proprietary microfiber technology that allows for effective cleaning using only water, significantly reducing the reliance on harsh household chemicals.
While the brand's heritage is rooted in Norway, the majority of its manufacturing operations are centralized in its own vertically integrated factory in China, ensuring quality control over its specialized microfiber weave. The company operates through a multi-level marketing (MLM) or direct-sales model across several global markets, including North America, Europe, and Asia.
Today, Norwex remains a privately held company. The brand started when Bjørn Nicolaisen discovered the power of microfiber for cleaning windshields, leading to the creation of Eidsvoll Miljøprodukter, which later became Norwex (a portmanteau of "The Norwegian Experience"). The ultimate ownership and global headquarters are currently based in Norway and the United States, managing a vast network of independent consultants worldwide.
