Wellaflex is a well-known hair styling line under the global Wella brand, which has a long-standing history in the professional and consumer beauty industry. Originally founded in Germany in 1880 by Franz Ströher, Wella started as a company producing tulles for wigs before evolving into a leader in permanent waves and hair styling products. The Wellaflex range specifically targets the consumer market, offering products like hairsprays and mousses designed for flexible yet strong hold.
Over the decades, the ownership of Wella has transitioned through several major corporations. It was acquired by Procter & Gamble in 2003, later sold to Coty Inc. in 2016, and is currently primarily owned by KKR (Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co.), a global investment firm. KKR acquired a majority stake in Wella from Coty in 2020, establishing it as an independent beauty company known as Wella Company. Today, Wella products are manufactured in various facilities across Europe and North America to meet international demand.
