Myers's Rum Original Dark

Myers's Rum is a legendary brand of Jamaican rum, first produced in 1879 by Fred L. Myers in Kingston, Jamaica. It is renowned for its 'Original Dark' variety, which is a blend of up to nine different continuous and pot-stilled rums, aged in white oak barrels to achieve its signature rich, dark color and complex flavor profile involving notes of caramel, honey, and chocolate.

While the rum is distilled and aged in Jamaica, the brand's ownership has changed several times over the decades. It was a staple in the Seagram portfolio for many years before being acquired by Diageo. In early 2019, Sazerac Company, a major American spirits company, acquired the brand from Diageo as part of a larger portfolio sale. Today, the Sazerac Company remains the ultimate owner, managing the brand from its headquarters in the United States while maintaining the traditional production methods in Jamaica.
