Glenmorangie is a world-renowned producer of Highland single malt Scotch whisky, celebrated for its smooth and complex character. The brand was established in 1843 when William Matheson founded the Glenmorangie Distillery on the banks of a peaceful Dornoch Firth. It is famous for possessing the tallest stills in Scotland, which are said to ensure that only the lightest and purest vapors reach the top, resulting in a elegant spirit.
While the original family company, Glenmorangie plc, managed the brand for over a century, it was acquired in 2004 by the French luxury goods conglomerate LVMH (LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton). Today, the production remains strictly tied to its Tain distillery in Scotland to maintain its protected Scotch Whisky status, while global distribution and strategic management are overseen from LVMH's headquarters in Paris.
